11 people died in a fireworks explosion in Uttar Pradesh, India
Xinhua News Agency, New Delhi, February 23. A fireworks explosion occurred on the 23rd in Perdoch County, Uttar Pradesh, India, killing at least 11 people and injuring six others.
Local police said the explosion occurred in a market about 257 kilometers southeast of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Some buildings collapsed in the explosion, and there are still people buried under the rubble.
According to Indian media reports, the explosion was a two-story building, part of which was used to make and sell fireworks and firecrackers, and the other part was a carpet factory. Four carpet factory workers were killed on the spot, and many other wounded were sent to the hospital and died due to injuries. The local police said they would investigate the accident.
