The reporter learned from the Beihai Customs that according to statistics, from January to May this year, 25,000 tons of fireworks and firecrackers were exported from the Beihai Port, an increase of 66.2% compared with the same period of last year. The value of goods was 400 million yuan, an increase of 50.2%. All of them were exported by general trade.
The traditional markets for fireworks and firecrackers at the Beihai Port are mainly concentrated in the United States and the European Union. From January to May, fireworks and firecrackers were exported to the United States by 15,000 tons, an increase of 65.5%; and exports to Europe by 1890.9 tons, an increase of 35.1%. In addition, due to the concentration of ethnic Chinese and festivals, the ASEAN market has a relatively stable export to the market, exporting 6470.2 tons to ASEAN, an increase of 92.7%. The former three together accounted for 93.4% of the total exports of fireworks and firecrackers at the Beihai Port during the same period.
At present, only the two ports in Shanghai and Beihai still have the qualification for exporting fireworks and carry the export volume of fireworks across the country. China's fireworks and firecrackers are mainly concentrated in Guangxi, Hunan, and Jiangxi. From January to May, firework enterprises in Guangxi, Jiangxi and Hunan respectively exported 7633.32 tons, 4662.1 tons and 3733.3 tons of fireworks from the Beihai Port, an increase of 8%, 49.7% and 42.9%, accounted for 30.7%, 18.8% and 15% of the total number of fireworks and firecrackers exported from the Beihai Port during the same period.
